Metal fiber felt is constructed from metal fibers randomly arranged in a web which is compressed and sintered together. This extremely porous fiber matrix is made in a uniform or grade pore structure. Because of 100% hard sintered media, the felt is completely bonded at each fiber intersection, it can reduces or eliminates compression under normal operating conditions. The felt is consist of one or more layers, each having smaller diameter fibers and higher density than the preceding. The first layer captures larger particles, allowing the following layers to be reserved for finer particulate. Supported with wire mesh can make felt very durable, protects the fibres and allows cross drainage between the medium and a perforated core structure, enabling potentially more cycles.
Micron ratings of the felt ranges from 0.1 to 100 um. When selecting filter media, please close attention to its efficiency level at the stated micron rating. This often overlooked measurement can make a big difference in the performance of your system.
