PTC Heater
PTC heater, also known as positive temperature co-efficient heater, is equipped with small ceramic stones with self temperature limiting characteristics.
The PTC heater improves the reliability by maintaining enclosure temperature only slightly higher than the outside ambient temperature. The system offers non-paralleled reliability due to the elimination of a thermostat or other controls. Further more PTC Heater uses an integrated fan assembly that assures even heat distribution throughout the enclosure.
The element in PTC heater responds in short time and plateau when the pre-defined reference temperature is reached. This resistance rise can be experienced over a temperature range of a few degrees C. This PTC heater results in a heating element that self-regulates at a pre-set temperature and automatically varies its wattage in order to maintain that pre-set temperature.
When temperature increases the PTC heater will increase its resistance at the same time. Basically speaking, the wattage will go up as ambient temperatures decrease and on the other hand while the wattage will fall as ambient temperatures increase. The concrete idea to this is that the PTC heater will maintain a consistent air temperature inside a certain amount of temperature tolerances specified and will never over heat in any circumstance.

When significant heat is required to reach the thermostat setting, a PTV heater is not like traditional heater to drive the temperature of the area around the heater well above desirable levels. This can result in uneven heat distribution in the control box.
